Centre Symphony Orchestra is one of New York City's longest-standing community orchestras. Our mission is to perform familiar and rarely performed works in the orchestral repertoire, collaborate with established and emerging soloists, and share great music with others.
During its long history we have welcomed such distinguished soloists as Gil Shaham, Sharah Chang, Fred Sherry, and Marc-Andre Hamelin. Featured conductors include John Yaffe, José Alejandro Guzmán, and the current Music Director, Scott Jackson Wiley.
The orchestra is comprised of serious musicians from throughout the region who share a love of music-making on a high level. Based at Broadway Presbyterian Church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the orchestra rehearses weekly and presents three concerts each year to sold-out audiences.
